For Anyone Uncertain, Just Try It! It Just Might Work!
“In 2013 I went to the Orthopedic & Fracture Clinic for what I found out was Piriformis Syndrome. Never having any problems before, I headed the advice and received Physical Therapy. After 3 months, I was told that it works for 89% of their patients, but it wasn’t working for me. I was then set up with an appointment to see a back surgeon. Before going to that appointment, I happened to see the Mankato Acupuncture Clinic sign. I walked in and inquired with who I call ‘Dr. Stephanie’. She took the time to talk with me. When I asked her if acupuncture would work for me, she looked me in the eyes and said, ‘I don’t know’. For the cost of acupuncture verses back surgery, I was willing to find out.
My first visit, ‘Dr. Stephanie’ knew I was responding. After about 5 or 6 treatments, I was getting relief. I hadn’t had relief from this pain in over a year and a half! I kept up the sessions (another 4 or 5) and I had improved almost 100%. I was told to come back if I needed to. After 6 months now, I’m still doing pretty good. ‘Dr. Stephanie’ has an entire resource of people she can recommend for things like massage therapy and chiropractic care. I loved how she could work my sessions into my schedule. But what I truly appreciated was her honesty to tell me she didn’t know if it would help or not. I had to try it. After the first session, I felt something. Even though I have no love for needles, she was patient with me and even held my hand through the first session!
For anyone uncertain about acupuncture, just try it! It just might work!
Oh, and yes, I did go to the back surgeon appointment and shared with him that I had started acupuncture and massage therapy. He said, ‘Good thing to try. Let me know how that’s working for you.’ It was a great day when I called him to let him know that it worked for me.”
